One of the tough realities of raising a child who relies on assistive equipment is figuring out where to put all that gear—especially as they grow out of it. Each item takes up precious space, and when it’s no longer needed, it can be hard to know what to do with it.

Fortunately, there’s now a helpful new resource. The Center for Inclusive Design and Engineering has launched the Colorado Assistive Technology Exchange, a free, searchable website designed to help families and individuals donate, sell, or request assistive equipment.

This could be

  • mobility equipment
  • communication devices
  • daily living aids
  • vision and hearing supports, and even
  • environmental adaptations

Through the Exchange, you can:

  • List equipment you no longer need
  • Choose to give it away or set a price
  • Offer shipping or request local pickup—whatever works best for you

It’s a simple, flexible way to make sure valuable equipment goes to someone who really needs it and reclaim some space in your home.
